CBI is investigating cases either registered by itself or registered initially by the State Police and later on transferred to CBI for conducting investigation.
There are 134 cases of Uttar Pradesh (U.P.) in which the accused were arrested during the last three years i.e. 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 (upto 30.6.2014).
The record of number of arrests carried out in individual cases either by CBI or by the State Police is a matter of individual case record and is not being maintained centrally.
No time frame can be assigned for completion of investigation as it varies from case to case.
Dr. Jitendra Singh MoS (PPG&P) gave this information in Lok Sabha today in a written reply to a question by Shri Hukum Singh.
