Tariq Parveen, a close aid of mafossi boss Dawood Ibrahim, was arrested today from Mumbai in a joint operation by the Lucknow Police and Uttar Pradesh Anti-terror squad (UPATS) with the help of Mumbai Police.
"The team arrested Tariq Parveen in Mumbai today," SSP Lucknow Yashaswi Yadav confirmed the arrest.
A team from Lucknow was sent to arrest Tariq in a 16-year old case when in his gang members were caught in Laknow 1990 with AK-47 and ammunitions while they were going to kill the then Mayor of Bombay.
It is to recall that Tariq was deported from Dubai to Mumbai in 2004 and he was in jail till 2008. After getting bail in 2008 and coming out of the jail, he changed his identity.
